Workshop Overdrive #3

After meeting up with the welder on Sunday, it seems like our mechanical workshop does not seem to have the equipment that meets the welder's requirement. Therefore, we have to bring the parts of aluminium chassis to the welder's shop.
Day 3 of workshop resumes with more grinding, hammering, bending, and burning. Well, most of the time it's hammering. The chassis sub-team is making immense progress and they expect the chasis to be completed by the end of this week. Great job! Meanwhile, the engine sub-team isn't that far off with the KERS, engine mounting, and engine flywheel being fabricated.

The sponsors representatives came over today to have a look at our progress today but unfortunately, I did not manage to snap a picture. Was busy grinding the metal. Haha...

Fixing the gear changing lever to the shaft.

Jerard inspecting the wheel bearings. Meticulous job!

Kee Chean double checking the SolidWorks drawing.

A very unconventional way to bend the tube but hey, it works!

It's done. Only waiting for welding...

And this is to support 50kg. Hmm..

Sam giving the spacer some final touches.

This is one half of the KERS system.

"Quickly do it before we get told off!"

Found our solution to the cables holding points

Looks like a ketupat right?
